Join us for a behind the scenes adventure in the Black-crowned Night Heron rookery at Lincoln Park Zoo and enjoy a night of conversation, conservation and an engaging encounter with these delightful and dapper birds.
- Meet the team working on the long-term restoration of this endangered species as we divide into small groups to learn about heron natural history and the research we are helping to fund.
- Enter the rookery, an area normally off-limits to the public during nesting season.
- Witness the twilight flight as adults set out into the night to hunt for food for their offspring.
