Helen & Betty Bremer Sanctuary Marks 40 Years with Celebration

Illinois Audubon Society invites the public to celebrate the Helen & Betty Bremer Sanctuary’s 40th year with an open house on Saturday, September 23 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

“Bremer Sanctuary volunteers will be available to lead trail hikes, wagon rides and to explain how the property has evolved from 1977 to the present,” stated Jerry Prater. “Parking is plentiful and light refreshments are planned.”

Scheduled programs provided by state and local organizations include live birds of prey presented by Treehouse Wildlife Center, a bird banding demonstration by licensed bird bander Tony Rothering and a make-n-take booth for children of all ages provided by University of Illinois Extension. An information table with an Open House Schedule and information will be available.

Bremer Sanctuary is located north of Hillsboro, Illinois.
