Illinois Audubon Society tops in land protection for 2018

A report released by the Prairie State Conservation Coalition puts Illinois Audubon Society at the top of land protection by purchasing 377 acres in 2018. Close behind was Grand Prairie Friends with 280 for the year. The annual report, 2018 – Year in Review contains a summary of accomplishments by private and public land conservation organizations. Overall, nearly three dozen land trusts protected 1,650.5 acres of natural resources across the state.

Prairie State Conservation Coalition is a statewide, not-for-profit association that works to strengthen the effectiveness of conservation land trusts in Illinois.
