Illinois Audubon Sanctuaries remain open

All Illinois Audubon Society Sanctuaries will remain open to the public during the Governor’s stay-at-home order, for walking and hiking. Sanctuaries are open year-round from dawn to dusk.

However, volunteer stewardship activities at all sanctuaries remain canceled until the stay-at-home order is lifted. In order to protect the health and safety of our employees and volunteers, visitors should note that we will not be maintaining trails at our sanctuaries until the stay-at-home order is lifted and we can safely resume site maintenance.  Visitors should adjust their activity accordingly by avoiding trails with tall vegetation or taking precautions such as using tick-spray to remain safe.

Our main headquarters, located at the Adams Wildlife Sanctuary in Springfield, will remain closed to the public until further notice. This closure includes all meetings scheduled by Illinois Audubon Society or our partners to be held at the facility. Link to staff contact information.
