Announcing our New Membership & Outreach Coordinator

The Illinois Audubon Society (IAS) is enthusiastic about our new Membership and Outreach Coordinator, Brian “Fox” Ellis. “We are wrapping up our 125th anniversary celebration by reinvigorating our organization with new employees and an expanded staff,” says Executive Director Jo Fessett. “Building on our history, we are creating momentum to carry our work forward into the future.”

Fox brings a broad set of skills, which he will need as he will fill several roles. Fox said, “My primary goals are these: to maintain the high standard of our quarterly magazine; to build on our social media presence; to improve both internal communication with our members and chapters, while also building brand awareness in the broader community; to assist chapters with websites and social media; and to plan and manage field trips, events, and engaging educational programs across the state.”

As the author of more than 30 books and 100 magazine articles, he’s prepared to edit the quarterly magazine. Managing three YouTube channels and social media for two businesses, Fox will do the work needed to improve IAS online presence. Fox performs as John James Audubon and Illinois-born ornithologist Robert Ridgway, and has already booked programs at several upcoming chapter meetings. Having worked with many conservation and environmental education organizations across the country, he brings a rich network to help create synergy with a wide spectrum of folks to achieve our core goals of conservation, restoration and education.
