Ready, Set, Bird! In conjunction with the 2023 Chapter Big Day, we are offering the chance for 10 competitive and adventurous birders to gain points for their chapter and enjoy the fun of a full day of fast-paced birding with an expert guide.
The Illinois River Flyway trip will begin and end in Havana, Illinois. The route will cover areas on both sides of the river. This route will include several Internationally Significant Birding Areas including The Nature Conservancy’s Emiquon Preserve, Rice Lake, Sand Ridge State Forest and Banner Marsh SFWA and Chautauqua NWR. Locations are subject to change and will be decided upon by the field trip leader to maximize the number of species counted.
Trips will begin at 4:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. The cost of the trip will include transportation by van, breakfast, lunch and snacks. Hotel information will be provided with registration confirmation.
