Ready, Set, Bird! In conjunction with the 2023 Chapter Big Day, we are offering the chance for 10 competitive and adventurous birders to gain points for their chapter and enjoy the fun of a full day of fast-paced birding with an expert guide.
The Northwest Illinois/Mississippi River trip will begin and end in Savannah, Illinois. The route will cover areas such as: Lost Mound NWR, Mississippi Palisades State Park, Spring Lake SFWA, Army Depot Road Marsh, Thomson Causeway, Lock and Dan 13 and Ayers Sand Prairie. Locations are subject to change and will be decided upon by the field trip leader to maximize the number of species counted.
Trips will begin at 4:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. The cost of the trip will include transportation by van, breakfast, lunch and snacks. Hotel information will be provided with registration confirmation.
