Use this handy guide “Bird Watching at Illinois Audubon Sanctuaries” to get you started.

The Illinois Audubon Society manages nine natural areas open to the public with great bird watching opportunities. From shorebirds to songbirds, raptors to waterfowl, more than 440 species have been counted in Illinois and most can be seen within these sanctuaries at some point during the annual cycle. We invite you to take the challenge, to visit at least five out of the nine sanctuaries and register your eBird counts to help us create designated eBird hotspots. After you have summitted your eBird counts, fill out the form below and receive a souvenir in recognition of your accomplishments. This challenge is open to all members and non-members.
