Birds and Brews (and Boats) (4/25/21)

Canoe the Fox River & Tangled Root Brewery (Wedron, Illinois)

Join us for an immersion in the art of bird watching and the craft of fine brewing. We are offering four trips this spring during the peak of spring migration. Though no experience is needed, experienced birders will be enthused. Your intrepid guide is both a beer nerd and bird nerd, Brian “Fox” Ellis. A rare bird indeed, he specializes in beer history and the contributions of John James Audubon to ornithology through a living-history portrayal.

We will meet in Wedron, Illinois at C & M canoe livery at 8:00 am to canoe the Fox River during spring migration before heading to Tangled Root Brewery for lunch, with an optional hike of Starved Rock Trails after lunch.

Tour will last approximately 3-4 hours, followed by a beer themed brunch and brewery tour/tasting.
