Hennepin Canal, Revivalist & Geneseo Brewing Co. (Geneseo ,Illinois)
Join us for an immersion in the art of bird watching and the craft of fine brewing. We are offering four trips this spring during the peak of spring migration. Though no experience is needed, experienced birders will be enthused. Your intrepid guide is both a beer nerd and bird nerd, Brian “Fox” Ellis. A rare bird indeed, he specializes in beer history and the contributions of John James Audubon to ornithology through a living-history portrayal.
We will meet at the Isaac Walton League Campground along the Hennepin Canal just north of Geneseo. A short hike of the canal followed by a kayak/canoe tour that will give us on opportunity for prairie, forest and water birds. Lunch and conversation with one of Illinois leading female brewmeisters at Geneseo Brewing Co. with optional visit to Revivalist Brewing after lunch.
Tour will last approximately 3-4 hours, followed by a beer themed breakfast and brewery tour/tasting.
