Tour a 38-acre prairie restoration near Macomb, Illinois, privately owned and managed by Cindy Owsley, Illinois Audubon Society Board of Directors. Beginning in 2003, Cindy, along with her favorite mentor Angella Moorehouse (Illinois Nature Preserve Commission) has transformed this piece of property from agricultural use into a gem of native prairie and wetland habitat.

The trip will include hiking on flat mowed trails to hear the story of Cindy’s journey into prairie restoration and to observe the beauty and biodiversity of plants and animals found on this property located just west of Macomb, Illinois.

Pre-trip Zoom Meeting.  A short pre-trip zoom meet-up with trip leaders and related experts will be scheduled the week of the event. More details regarding this and other information necessary for the trip will be emailed to registrants.
