Yellow-headed blackbirds, gallinules, black terns, bitterns, rails, flycatchers and cranes. Just a few potential highlights awaiting birders on this tour around McHenry County with Dave Miller and Randy Schietzelt. The group will tour Goose Lake, North Branch, Lake Elizabeth and Glacial Park. This great lineup will also bring us several grassland species such as sparrows, dickcissel, meadowlarks and boblinks.
Attendees will be transported during the field trip by van. This trip will involve several long hikes into areas to view birds once we leave the vehicle. On Friday night, we will be meeting at a local restaurant to enjoy dinner and hear information and updates on Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge.
Trip cost includes lunch, snacks, water and van transport during field trip
