President of the Board of The Illinois Raptor Center. Executive Council Member of the Illinois Stare Academy of Science. USGS Master Bird Banding Permit and lead bird bander at the Illinois Raptor Center Bird Banding Station.

I am a physiological ecologist who studies how animal immune defenses protect them from disease in wild populations and how immune defenses develop and have evolved. I study birds, amphibians, fish, and reptiles to answer these questions.
