Angella K Moorehouse

I have worked 28 years as a field representative for the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission in West-Central Illinois. I am the species lead for the regal fritillary. And I serve as the chairperson for the Terrestrial Invertebrates Endangered Species Technical Advisory Committee for the Endangered Species Protection Board. I have also recently published a book, Flower Bugs, that is a fully illustrated guide to the true bugs you will find in this region.

Presentation Information

Title

Flower Bugs

Subject(s)

Description

Much of my research and photography focuses on insects associated with flowering plants (pollinators and anthophiles). I can speak on most any insects/terrestrial invertebrates; I specialize in pollinators. I’m far more familiar with native insects and spiders. I also present programs on night lighting for moths and other insects. I am happy to tailor my talks to the needs of the group. I have given talks on true bugs, bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, flies, and wasps as well as which plants are visited by which insects, and the relationships between flowers and their pollinators.
