Tara Beveroth

I am an Avian Ecologist with the Illinois Natural History Survey. For over 20 years now I have been fortunate to work with fellow researchers on diverse avian-related projects. For a large majority of that time, I also worked with the Critical Trends Assessment Program (CTAP) to look at how landscape use over time affects birds, plants, and insects. In addition, I coordinate multiple citizen science programs including the Illinois Spring Bird Count, Monitoring of Owls and Nightjars (project MOON), and more recently the Illinois Breeding Bird Survey. In 2019 I orchestrated and began operating a migratory bird banding station with the help of numerous volunteers including U of I staff, graduate students, and sometimes undergraduate students.
